Record Player
This was my submission to one of Akron Film’s competitions, The Secrets of Science. Everyone was randomly assigned a scientific invention or principle to animate in whatever fashion you desire, explaining how that thing works. The explanation could be true or fabricated, and I obviously went with my own fabricated explanation for the workings of a record player. Tiny vinyl gremlins on your records worship the diamond on the turntable’s needle, and the din of their microscopic death cries combine to form what we perceive as music.

I wish I could have spent more time on this to polish it up and build out more robust models to animate, but overall I’m fairly pleased for finishing this in only a few short days in my spare time.
